  • Tiny white threads driving me crazy

    Hi all,

I've been using these MF towels to remove the Ultimate Quik Detailer off of my black car. I also use them when I polish or wax. One of the things I've noticed is that after wiping the detailer off, it leaves behind these tiny white threads. Since it's a black car, you can imagine the frustration!

Before I get all crazy trying to clean these towels out, do you think the solution is to use vinegar? I've heard that this is often what is prescribed to clean the towels, but I've never heard if it fixes a problem like this.

I usually wash the towels separate from the rest of my laundry. I use a little bit of detergent (liquid) and I dry them on low heat in the dryer. I make sure the lint trap is clean before putting them in and I do not use dryer sheets. I do wash them with the Meguiar's MF wash mitt and sometimes the MF applicators.

Any help would be appreciated. I would hate to think that I have to buy a new set of towels to take care of the problem.

white threads? you mean those tiny theads that came off the towel? If so,sorry.. time to get some new quality MF towels.

And, while wiping the QD, quickly spread the liquid evently over a small area, let it dry a bit (less than 10 sec) , then turn to the other (dry)side of the towel and gentaly wipe a few passes to rid the tiny threads.
