I got a new car a few months ago, and wanting to take care of it from the begining, i went out and bout a PC , the Megs pad starter kit, and some DC1,2,3. After reading this forum for a while, I figured I couldn't do any damage. When I was finished, the car looked better than the day I picked it up at the dealer.
So yesterday i decided I would fix up my mom's car. It's a 98 toyota corolla, that never got any TLC. So I went at it with clay, DC1,DC2, and DC3. It made a huge difference, but upon close inspection, I could still see some minor scratches/swirls and some spots on the paint, I guess etchings. So I spent last night looking at old posts here and now I'm confused. I figure if I go out and get some #83, it would be more aggressive, and would do better at getting the etchings out. My confusion comes from a post where Mike Phillips says that DC1 is not aggressive enough to remove paint. If this is true, than what purpose does DC1 serve? Am I better to stop using DC1 and just replace it with some #83?
