what happened to my ultimate compound?!

I bought a bottle of UC from Walmart around last year, but unfortunately I havent had a chance to use it until today, haha.

I read the directions, and before opening I tried shaking it as hard as I can... When i shook it, it felt like a very low viscous liquid was inside, like water!!!! I checked the bottle and its brand new, unopened. It's still sealed! I wonder what happened to the compound...

Is it supposed to be so watery and liquidy? I dont remember it being this way... Is it safe to use or should I just buy a new bottle? Its going to get dark in about 50 mins so I dont want to drive out 30 mins to the nearest store in traffic and buy a bottle in a car that has just been clayed.... please help!

Maybe I should just NXT it for now and do the next time

If you bought it last fall and never used it, is there any chance you left it in the garage and it froze? That's sort of what it sounds like since a single freeze/thaw cycle will usually kill a product - and it will separate like you describe, leaving a very watery component and a thicker component with almost a cottage cheese like consistency. While it won't hurt anything to use it, it probably just won't work well at all.

just seal (NXT) the car and get another bottle, UC will take you awhile to get done.
Buy another bottle and return the old one, this way you won't lose any money.

Why should you jam a retailer because of a problem that you created

Whats worse, is when you return it to Wal-Mart they are not going to realize that the product has seperated and will place it back on the shelf

Then the next person that comes along will purchase it and be very disappointed in the results they achieve

thats exactly what it looks like!! i just NXTd my car and i'll do it next time. a lesson learned: dont buy stuff on impulse hahaha. next time i'll buy it right before i actually use it.

my 2nd bottle of nxt also looks like cottage cheese and water mixture haha.

also, i'm going to buy a DA polisher... its about time i got one

I had it happen to a sealed gallon of original 105 year before last

Just toss that stuff in a bio-recycle center and take it as lesson learned. You also may wanna go ahead an move your other products that aren't ruined indoors before a coldsnap hits you outta nowhere

Yeah I agree... it was in my garage which isnt insulated or heated or anything, haha. I guess I'm moving it into my bedroom, on my bed so I can sleep with it hahaha jk. It's prob going in a random closet that isnt too hot nor too cold.

The first bottle of UC I purchased was seperated, and I used it right after I purchased it. Maybe I got the one that someone else froze and brought back.

Yep- my first bottle of UC was also water thin. I almost wonder if the retailer is cold storing some of this stuff, and that was the cause- I bought mine last summer, there was no cold snap...

Tried that- no dice... Megs replaced it for free- just call customer care, they'll take care of you...

Mine actually just did this too!?!? I went to use it last week, and it was very watery. I poured some onto the pad and it ran right off. A water and oil effect, if you will. All of my stuff is kept inside though...

yeah all of my stuff is garaged.... and in winter it gets as low as 40 and summer it avg about 65 degrees F. maybe the shelf life is just 1 year-ish
