My three cars are 1,2 and 3 years old. the paint is in A 1 condition, no scratches swirls, spider webs etc, etc, and two of them are garaged, and the other is a Sunday only driver. after i washed,clayed,#80 and 2x nxt wax, with the G100,would i use #80 3-4 months down the road and 2x nxt wax,or if the paint is still in the same A1 condition, no swirls scratches etc, etc, would i just 2x nxt, what i mean is every time i want to redo my cars should i clay and use the speed glaze as part of my waxing/detail.

Hey,
Use the least aggressive products to keep your car's finish at its maximum potential.
As for a re-application schedule, that is difficult. Even though the car may only be driven once a week, the severity of the weather will dictate the need for a re-application of a product like #80.
Usually after 3-4 months, the weather/elements will usually affect the paint's finish. So while claying may not be needed, using a paint cleaner like #9 Swirl Remover or #80 Speed Glaze will help to restore the finish to its maximum potential IMHO!
If you are applying NXT every 1-2 months, and/or the car is not exposed to the elements on a daily basis, you may need to only use the #80 or #9 every 6 months or more.

2hotford -- time to pick your brain!
#80 is a mildly abrasive polish. I expect to use it at least once a year.
However, if the paint is not picking up swirls, would it be better to use a chemical paint cleaner -- DC#1 in my case -- then follow with a pure polish -- DC#2 -- instead of subjecting the paint to more wear from #80?
Clay I would regard as a separate issue, used when I can feel the paint texture changing.
Your thoughts?
And BTW, where do you get your #80? The only place I can find to carry it locally is Lordco, and their prices are ridiculous.

Hey Galcobar,
On my personal vehicles, I will use #80 probably at least 4 times a year. Meg's #80 is quite mild and will remove light swirls/marring etc that are usually instilled from day to day use of the vehicle.
Though some products may use chemical cleaners rather than diminishing abrasives (some use both), their job is still to clean the paint. It is only the degree for which the cleaning is completed that changes.
However, if your paint remains virtually swirl free, then yes you could just use a dedicated paint cleaner. I would highly suggest using Meguiar's Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner. This product works very well by hand or PC.
As for buying products, I have bought a ton of products through Lordco. Their shelf prices however are very high. If you take the product to the back counter and ask for a discount, they will usually give you one. Do you have a West Can Auto Parts store near you? They usually carry Meguiar's, Pro, and Farcela products, at least the one in Kamloops does.
I hope this helps!

Hi:
I would also like to suggest that you consider using #81.
The others did not mention it, but if your cars are dark colors you will love it.
If a product like #80 is not required I always polish the paint before waxing with #81. It is easy to use and makes a big difference on dark colors.
