  • Can DA help, speed up applying UQW?

    hi all,

Can use of DA with 6.5" pad speed up or make it easier applying Ultimate Quick Wax after car was washed and rinsed?
What pad to use? black, red for application? which pad for removing?
Or will it be easy to use 10" random orbital was spreader with terry to apply and wool bonnet to remove UQW?

This is for every 1-2 weeks wash between waxing (NXT 2).

    tnx.

I don't think you need a DA to apply UQW, it will be faster to apply it using a MF towel.
If you want to use the DA forget about UQW, just use whatever wax you prefer.

UQW is a mist and wipe product. No need to use a D/A.

        tnx for the reply.

the last time I used my hands and MF towel it took me about 30 min, most time to remove it and buff it.
No, I don't want to wax every time I wash my car. As applying wax in proper way required clean a car and I don't want to clay it.
I'd like to keep not clay / polish / wax car for another 3 - 6 months.

30 minutes is a bit much.... may not have had your technique down.

I'm here to learn from you how to be more efficient
I already kind of narrow down to use 2 MF towels - 1 to apply UQW and another 1 to remove it.
turning just 1 MF towel works for 1st few blocks till whole towel get wet by UQW and this helps with removing as well.
So I though about DA to speed it up more.

How long it takes for you to apply UQW and remove it and buff car?
Do you use just 1 MF towel?

            tnx

You can use UQW two ways... although it almost = 1. You can apply, and buff it till it disapears, or apply thin, and come back around and buff off.

I tend to apply thin, and come back around and buff off. For me, You really want to use the same cloth the whole time, once it is wet keep using it, unless it gets dirty from something. You barely want to see the wax on the surface... barely. Wiping a damp cloth across is enough, you dont want a layer like a liquid/paste wax.

Then, by the time you get around, you should be able to go to a dry cloth, and just walk around wiping.

but, you are talking about 2 towels - don't you?
                one to apply
                another to buff
                right?

Re: Can DA help, speed up applying UQW?

For my way, yes. But when applying, you really only use one part of the entire towel the whole time.

But a common mistake is applying to thick, where you are actually taking the time to remove the wax, like a coat of wax. And thick UQW takes time to remove.

It should be so thin, it just takes a light quick wipe to pull up any dried residue with the dry towel, like wiping off dust.

It sounds like you are using UQW every time your car is washed. I think you are getting to much wax build up and that is why it is hard to remove. Use UQD three times before using the UQW.

that isn't my understanding of UQD.
I use UQD to avoid washing my car - just to refresh small area without water from bird bombs or etc. I use UQD local - not for whole car.
On UQW bottle directions - use after wash ... between waxing / sealant ...

You need clean car for UQW too. If needs clay, do regular wash wax not UQW.

If car not too dirty....use duster and UQD. Then use UQW for in between times.

Towel should not get wet from UQW, so can use clean part of towel to wipe off UQW not 2nd towel.

Read other posts again. I may have made a mistake.

UQW should take no more than 10 minutes, tops.

There really isn't any "buffing" required unless you put it on too thick.

Ok, I'll practice with UQW today when I get shade in my car lot and that's after 4 PM

So far I got that there is no golden rule about use UQW and UQD and everyone has own way to use it and that's fine ;-)

I'll try to apply UQW under 5 min to whole car that then remove it under another 5 min
I'll see if I can dance around car so fast.

I don't spray on car I spray UQW to MF towel to avoid UQW on plastic trim and glass ...

You aren't supposed to let UQW sit on the car...spray one section, spread with microfiber, wipe off with another microfiber (or clean section of the same microfiber)

With ultimate quick wax I split sections like this: half of the hood, entire door, half of the roof, half of the trunk, front bumper, rear bumper...that's basically the size area I cover with 1 spray of UQW.
