Strange haze AFTER detail..

So I detail my car the other day. Here were my steps.

Meg's car wash
Meg's clay-bax
Meg's cleaner wax
Meg's NXT

Now I have a strange haze on my car.. You can clearly tell that it is the product.. Either the CW or the NXT, but it seems it's a pain in the you know what, to get off.

I have tried QD and QW, both with Meg's microfibers. My car was completely cool during this process, it had not even seen sunlight that day, and it was only 73°F out. Not humid either. This process was done by hand.

The only reason I noticed it, was a parking lot with florescent lights, and I saw it on my hood, but it's probably on the whole car. I did use a bit more of the product than I should have, but it's hard to tell where I applied wax already since my car is Yellow. Which also attributes to the fact that I can only see the haze in florescent lights also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

NXT can exhibit a "streaking" effect under certain conditions:

Here's what Stoops had to write:

The polishing oils in NXT 2.0 need to fully set up before removal or you can in some cases see some streaking. Make sure you're applying a very thin coat to all the painted surfaces of the vehicle and then let it dry for another 30 minutes or so. In fact, if you apply the wax and then start cleaning the interior of the vehicle - vacuuming, cleaning windows, dressing leather, vinyl, etc - and then dress your tires and exterior trim, and then put everything away you should be well beyond that 30 minute time period and the NXT will be fully dried. It will still wipe off without effort but you shouldn't have any streaking.

Hey,

You most likely applied way too much product. It was either the Cleaner Wax or the NXT. This is a common issue, especially if done by hand. The best way to remove it is with Microfiber towels and a Quick Detailer type product. After a couple washes, the hazing will also go away. It is in fact hard to buff off as you said. In the future, just don't use so much product per panel.

The only way to take pictures would be at night, and it would be hard to see on a camera, I'm guessing. I let it cure on the paint for nearly an hour, so I don't think that's it.

Yeah, I'm really thinking it was too much product. At first I thought I may have made the paint cloudy because of the abrasives in the CW.. I was about to freak.. Lol

The only downside to a light colored car is I ALWAYS have a hard time seeing where I already applied wax, and to compensate, I use more.. Haha

Usually a washing will remove the haze if it's the result of too much wax. Seems to work for me anyway!
