  • stains on canvas soft-top

my top already got a few patches of stain (grey in color on the black canvas) over it when i bought the car

today when i was trying to stick the rubber edge of the rear window which came off, i accidentally spill some glue onto the canvas! no matter how hard i clean/scratch it and using meguiars cleaning products, it still leave a grey discoloration on the black canvas

is there any ways i could get rid of all those patchy stains?

    thanks a lot!

Raggtopp Fabric/Vinyl Cleaner immediately comes to mind, but for stubborn stains you'll get more action from Amazing Roll-Off. Another possibility might be Meguiar's Canvas Cleaner.

I got some subborn stains off my wife's car (results to post soon), Her GM fabric has virtually no plush to it. I found All Purpouse Cleaner and a decent brush and some scrubbing got it all out.

i hv used Meguiars Convertible and Cabriolet Cleaner G2016 but it cant remove it all.
i wonder whether it is actually discoloration by chemicals in the glue?

i am just wondering if it is really discoloration by chemicals then will the above products be useful?
or could we actually or necessary to differentiate if it is just stain or discoloration?

What I can say is a "Stain" In my opinion is a contamination transfer on a given surface which means that it can be removeable. Discoloration CAN fall under this but if the surface has been "Bleached" or Lightened up from the darker surrounding fabrics, often no matter how much is cleaned, the pigment has been taken away.

I have used a specific canvas top cleaner but I have had a fabric like that get stained and using the APC and a moderately soft brush get a lot of the fabric.

i am sorry but do you mean if the pigment is already taken away, then no matter what i use it would not help?
also do u mean i could try using APC on the canvas to see if it helps?
