Ultimate Compound is the most aggressive product in the consumer line. Scratch-X and Swirl-X follow, in descending order. You should always use the least aggressive product necessary when attempting paint correction. DC Cleaner is a mild, non-abrasive cleaner, intended to clean and prep the surface for subsequent applications of DC polish and wax. Color-X is a combination cleaner and wax with more aggressive cleaning ability than the typical cleaner wax. It can be a stand-alone product or topped with a pure non-cleaning wax or sealant. Read this thread for more info on the various waxes in the product line; http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38728

Using DC Cleaner and Color-X is redundant IMO.
