  • Washing your bottom

So we know to wash from top to bottom. That way dirt is less likely to get into the MIT and scratch the rest of the car.

What do you do at the VERY bottom of the body? Do you use the same mit fr the very bottom and fender wells. Or do you switch to a terra cloth or brush? Or just use the same microfiber wash Mit all through out?

What tool do you use for wheel and tire? I just clean with a terra cloth and meguiars gold class. But that seams to not clean the bleeding brake line debree.

Also I might sound anal but do you wash a section then dry it and move on or wash whole car and dry later? I like working by section. If I don't my black cars seam to always spot up before I get to dry.

I use a different wash mitt for the bottom half of the car, I wash one section and rinse it but dry it all at once at the end.

    For the wheels and wells....
I use a separate brush for the wheel wells.
I use the megs wheel brushes for the wheels and tire, sometimes with just car wash soap if the brake dust isn't baked on.

I use the same microfiber wash mitt for the entire span of the car, top to bottom. I figure the entire car is hosed and doused with water and soap, and I use the two bucket method with grit guards, there's no way the dirtier stuff down at the side skirts and lower bumper will stick onto my mitt and accidentally rub into the rest of the car. And in the end, I wash my mitt after every wash so I like to think I'm taking every precaution.

The only things I use when cleaning my wheels are a soft bristle brush and Meguiar's Aluminum Wheel Cleaner. Hose it down, spray product on, agitate with brush, rinse. It's that simple. After I'm done washing the whole car, I'll dry my wheels off with a terry towel.

It's always best to wash section at a time so the soap suds don't dry on top of the car. So Roof first, trunk/boot second, left or right side third and fourth (divide it up into two sections if you got a car wider than my Golf lol), windshield/hood fifth, and fenders/front bumpers sixth. If this sounds similar to what you're doing, than you're alright~

I clean around the whole bottem section of the car before I do the wheels. Them move on to the rest of the car with fresh suds and 6 mitts

Since using Ult Wash & Wax, I noticed it likes to dry quickly and I mean this is on a car that has been in the shade and the time is 7am. Wash rims first, scrub the wheels both with a brush, rinse, have my wash mixed up. Spray the car down, soap from front to the back, leaving the bottom 1/3 for last. I do use the same mitt but since I keep them so clean it never becomes an issue.

I rinse top down, water blade with the body panels, then MF or Water magnet it all off. Then take a terry cloth towel to the rims/tires. Dress with Hyper Dressing, let dwell @ a 1:1 ratio.

Lastly since I have a MF Mitt, I put the hose inside and run it and fill it up, then squeeze out the water and IMO it takes ALL the possibly debris that may have gotten in between the fibers and flushes it out with all the excess soap. Next season I will be getting a different Mitt and this one or a dollar store one.

I dont find UW&W drying to be a problem, seems to rinse clean easily enough, and may even work better if it sits on the paint a bit longer.

That is what I was thinking, it may be a intentional mechanic when dealing with the wash. It still works very well. All my cars sheet water when rinsed and I always follow up with UQW to keep them good. All cars are due for a clay and wax before the Fall/Winter hit.

Then it is off to finding a regiment that works for the winter weather.

Thats what I do..Let it for a minute or two then I use the free flowing method..Hose without a nozel..It sheet's right off then I finish what's left with a water magnet..

                          Re: Washing your bottom

I actually have a completely separate sponge/mitt and brush set for the bottom 8-12" of the car and wheel wells. Probably overly worrisome but it makes me feel better. With a black car with delicate paint, keeping it clean is a laborious process and anything I can do to make it easier, I do.
