  • Shames cloths bad for paint?

Just wondering if shamed cloths were bad for paint? I was sneering cause Meguiars offers a totally different type of cloth to dry with.

Need an interpretation here; what is a "shames" cloth?

I don't like them. Water magnets work a lot better for me.
The material is completely different, WMs are microfiber, very easy to work with and clean.

          - these synthetic chamois are some type of foamy/ rubbery, pouris material- I'd say they're heavy and grabby.

I say just get at least 3 water magnets to start with.

Sound advice. I actually only use a max of 2 Water magnets to dry even a Honda Pilot without flooding and without any wax. It's good to have a few extras though.

I have great luck with a quality water blad WITH GOOD technique (takes practice) and either a MF drying towel (generic cheapo) or Meg's Water Magnet. IMO I seem to do better with the Walmart MF in the end. IF I wanted to NOT use the blade, then I would start with the WM and then follow up with the MF drying towel.

Just a little tip with the Water Magnet - wash it before first use, and only wash with other microfiber towels (no terry towels mixed in) and stay away from fabric softeners and dryer sheets.

I like the absorber but if you leave them in the plastic container for awhile they get moldy and stinky. Had to leave it out of the container and just wet it every time. It still works good but getting worn out. I need to get a water magnet or two...
