Meguiar's Cleaner Wax

What are your thoughts on this product? How did you apply it, to what sort of surface, and what were your results?
Today I wanted to 'touch up' the hood of my Black car. I noticed that it had a few blemishes in the paint, and that I'm probably getting close to needing a quick run over with a clay bar. It's been about 5,000 miles since I clayed and really went crazy with it, although it gets a good wash 2-4 times a week, depending.
It didn't really blow my mind, with blemish removing. Although it certainly helped at least a bit. What really did blow my mind, was how slippery the surface of my paint was after trying this. No signs of any of the bonded dirt that I noticed before. AND not only that, it was more slippery, than I've ever felt, even after two coats of wax.
I only did half my hood, so I can see just how it holds up compared to Nxt 2.0, just because I was blown away by the slippery, smooth result.

Has anyone else had this occurrence, or can anyone vouch for this product? If it does what it feels like it has done, why isn't this product recommended more often?

It was applied with a DA, setting 3, black foam pad.

Its a good product, but yeah, on the mild side.

This is always a tough question to answer, but how long does it 'last'. Is it at least comparable to Nxt 2.0?

I have never tested the durability of Cleaner Wax because I always top it with something else. I would not expect it to be as durable as a regular wax/sealant. And I agree with you that CW pleasantly surprises one with its look.

I have found Meguiar's cleaner waxes (Cleaner Wax, ColorX, M20) to be exceptionally useful. Given how vulnerable the paint of my S2K is to water spots, I find that I often turn to a cleaner wax before applying my preferred wax.

Tom Mosca wrote a helpful article commending Cleaner Wax: Mosca's article on cleaner wax. For the money, Cleaner Wax is hard to beat.

Same with my Scion paint, cheap paint, ftl.
I'll check up on that article, and I will certainly keep in mind topping the cleaner wax.

I think it is a excellent product. It does it 's intended job. Cleans the paint and leaves behind a layer of protection. To me there is no viable way to conclude how long it will last. Each user it will vary. Too many variables, to effectively answer the question.

Very mild product, without something over it, plan on it lasting only 3 months.

Yes, a lot of variables indeed to determine durability.
How often the car is washed, how hard you rub when you wash the car, how much rain, how much dust, car is kept indoor or outdoor, temperature, etc.......
