I picked up a job to detail a Checker that was never a taxi and has been used very little for the past 8 years BUT it sits outside. Its a Pea Green color and has not been washed or cleaned well for the last 8 years either. I'm going to be using my G110 on it and was wondering what the best combination would be to make the Pea Green shine again.

Re: What to use on a Checker Marathon??
Wash
clay, definitely. Since it has been outside for years.
scratch x if needed Do a test spot first.
Polish optional
I would then give it 2 thin coats of wax, If the scratch-x was not needed or whatever you decided to do to remove any scratches. I would do this:
Apply a good cleaner wax
top it off with nxt2.0Done.
For the scratches or paint cleaning step you failed to mention the condition of the paint. Is it full of scratches? Swirls? Anything. That is why I suggested the least aggressive method.
If The paint if in good shape, It will have to be cleaned after you clay. That is why I also suggested a cleaner wax.
Hope this helps.quality creates its own demand

Re: What to use on a Checker Marathon??
Thanks for the input, but I can't really tell you the condition of the paint. It's so dull and has so much dirt built up on it that if I lick my finger and rub it on there it already looks better.
I didn't see any swirls or scratches in it so I was thinking of trying the dual action cleaner/polish on it and seeing how it comes out.
I looked at the car quickly while I was working at the house but its really hard to tell without giving it a good wash job or 2.
