  • can i apply swirl x after UC?

    Hi there,

i am thinking to apply UC with G220, followed by an application of SwirlX by hand to remove any micro hazing caused by UC, would that be fine, or would i need to apply SwirlX by G220 too, the thing is i only have one yellow buffing pad, and i would prefer not to buy another pad for that matter.

    Many Thanks.

Nothing wrong with using it by hand, it should remove minor marring if worked in, but cant say for sure till you try.

Idealing it would be assumed to have a clean pad for each product you use. You could clean them in the fly. That is in my own opinion. Normal cleaning requires drying time which you wont have. I would think to take a MF towel and dry it as much as you can or get as much UC off before going to swirl x if you cannot get your hands on another cutting pad.

Also to mention, do you have any other pads of a "lesser' cut then the yellow?? Depending on the brand of pad, stepping down in "cut" of the chemical but the same "cut" of the pad may not get you where you want to be.

i do have a final step finishing pad, by the way all pads i have is meguiars, but i would like to save that pad for polishing step, because i was thinking UC would do most of the work but any micro hazing should be took care of by a hand application by SwirlX if i'm not wrong?

ok thats great, so would you recommend i work a section at a time and how long to work it in, around a minute or something?

UC leaves very little behind on most paints... I would start with worked SwirlX over a 1'x1' area with reasonable pressure for 30 seconds and check you results.

On my Pewter Paint and Naby Blue Metallic. UC has left when done by hand a pretty flawless finish, and thats with Terry Cloth, working a 1' x 1' area.

i just thought of applying deep crystal step 1, do you think that could be useful, i know you say try it out and all, but just from your knowledge do you think it could do the trick, thanks,

also can i have a few tips on how to correctly 'clean pad on fly', is using a microfibre fine for this?

If UC leaves any defects (which would be rare), DC1 would likely be too mild to remove them.
