  • My LSP test

I've read many posts here dealing with two different LSP's, layering a wax product over a sealer. I just did a test over the weekend on the hood of one of my cars for the same purpose. I did the whole panel with NXT, let it set overnight, then taped it off in 4 sections. Second coat was my 3 favorite LSP's, Meguiar's #26, Griot's Best of Show & Collinite 845. Each one enhanced the gloss, as I expected. Final section was done with a second coat of NXT. I looked at it indoors and outdoors, under artificial light, bright sun and an overcast sky, and couldn't tell a damn bit of difference in sections. Considering its ease of use and durability, 2 coats of NXT will be my go-to LSP on that car from now on. Obviously it's only one car, one color, and as the man says, your mileage may vary. Bottom line, the only way to be sure is to do a 50/50 and see for yourself on your own car with your own eyes.

    Re: My LSP test

    I'm surprised.

I sealed my girlfriend Crossfire (red) with NXT 2.0 and later I topped it with M26. There was a notable difference in the way the paint looked, after I applied the M26. This wasn't just my opinion. My girlfriend could see the difference and so could my buddy.

I'm going to try to capture the difference between NXT 2.0 and M26 on my black GMC within the next week or so. I have a Nikon with various lenses, filters etc. so if there is a difference, I'll be able to capture it.

If everything else looks the same as NXT 2.0 to you, then that's great.

    Did you take any photos?

      I was surprised too.
The point of my post was that each car, each color can be a unique case. I've done the same NXT/M26 or NXT/C845 combo on another red car I own and I felt the addition of wax added something to the NXT. This one's my winter daily driver, so it's due for a clay/clean/polish/wax within the next month. You can bank on some masking tape and multiple LSP's being part of the process, as the best recipe this time might be completely different.

That pretty well sums up everything when it comes to detailing!! Don't forget that we all see things a bit differently too. And that doesn't just mean that we all like different things - we flat out see things differently at times.
