This has always been a dilemna for me when a frugal customer either requests: "I only want the interior cleaned" or: "'I only want the exterior waxed"- POLL: ARE DOOR JAMS DEFINED AS INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR?? (they are one or the other; not both!)

I would consider them interior, since you can only see them when you open the doors to go inside. They are not visible from the exterior with the car doors closed. -

I would consider them interior as well. If you pay for an exterior automatic wash you certainly don't get them cleaned.
Detailers who have contracts cleaning dealership lot vehicles, don't clean them either.Comment

I "technically" consider them exterior but by the time I have the interior where I want it, the door jambs stick out like a sore thumb and make the rest look bad so I go ahead and do them anyways. As a general rule of thumb, anything (within reason) that makes what I just did look bad gets cleaned whether it's been paid for or not (i.e. door jambs, the occasional scratch removal, etc.)ChrisThompsonsCustom@gmail.com

If only doing the exterior, I also do the jambs. If It is a interior only, I do the jambs. So to me they are both.quality creates its own demandComment

When I get people that want "exterior only" I usually do not do the door jambs. I consider them interior as well.Matt
