  • Removing dry wax

    hi,

i want to take someone's advise on removing dry wax.

i am giving the wax enough time to dry then i am spraying UQD to remove and buff.

what do you think? Any advise?

    cheers,

It sounds to me like you're making the job harder than it needs to be. Every Meg's wax I've ever used is easy to remove if applied sparingly and worked into the paint until only a barely perceptible haze remains. Read this thread for some good advice on applying and removing wax: http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=39350

Should be no need for UQD, unless a smear or two was left behind.

You shouldn't be using UQD to remove the hazed wax (there should be no need to) and you really shouldn't be "buffing" it either. A properly applied, thin coat of wax that is fully dry should simply wipe off with a couple of strokes of your microfiber - that's it.

It sounds like you are applying the product to thick.

Are you using liquid or paste wax? Paste can be a little tougher but as previously mentioned, the majority should come off with just the use of a microfiber.

              Re: Removing dry wax

              thanks to all the replies,

i would like to clarify the reason why i tend to use UQD to remove the wax.

i wax the car in the street. The weather is normally dusty in riyadh.

i am under the impression that UQD will help removing the dried wax and helps to prevent inducing scratches during the operation.

              thanks,

Well, if you are applying very thin, and removing the wax in a dusty environment, then yeah, could be helpful.

It is nice to try and keep a wax from getting wet for a little while after applied, but if you have to, you have to.
