  • Shelf Life for Meguiar's Products?

I probably have a couple dozen different Meguiar's products; Waxes, Cleaners, etc. If the products are kept tightly closed and in a dark cabinet, and not subject to extreme temperatures, will they last indefinitely?

By the way, I've posted questions earlier on cleaning up a 2009 Lexus I bought recently, that had been used as a loaner car, and was in pretty bad shape finish wise, with lots of swirls and scratches from car washes, etc.

I finally am happy with my results, after claying; using Meguiar's Ultimate Compound; M205 Glaze; #7 Polish; and finally NXT Tech 2.0. I'll probably top off with #26 after the NXt cures.

Patience is the secret to doing a successful job. Thanks to all for their advice.

I would say I have 5yr old bottles that are fine, but I would not count on products lasting past that. They may or may not, but dont rely on it. Helps to shake them every so often.

I have some Meg's stuff from 8 years ago and it's still effective. One thing to do to keep any wax/polish is to prevent freezing. A lot of waxes are water based. SO.... if you keep your stuff in the garage, make sure you move it to the house for the cold months.

This is the biggest reason I lose products. Every once in a while one or two get left in the garage and become affected by the temperatures..

^ Yup.... it's amazing how many products that are stored in the garage should be removed during the winter season. Latex based paint is another candidate. I usually start paying a little more attention to the weather forecasts in late September up here in 'The Great White North'

My meguiar's products have held up fine....other than a bottle of M80 which went bad in 6 months for whatever reason.

Keep them from extreme temps. Especially from freezing. Up to 5 years should be okay.

I have some Turtle Wax from 1988 that is still good.
