Re: News paper for window's??
Over the years lotta folks have used newspaper to clean their windows..rather than a rag/cloth of some kind and many claim it works great. I have heard that the results now are not so good due to the regulations forcing changes in ink. Not to mention the black mess on your hands? I am a clean glass freak and have tried many glass cleaners over the years. Now, the very best and most economicall is Meguiar's D120 concentrate glass cleaner. Use a microfiber towel for best results. Also, ya gotta throw the used newspaper away and add to the landfills while the microfiber is thrown in the washer/dryer and will last for years.Barry

I agree with Poki, once you find some good MF towels, you won't use anything else. I have used the newspaper method when I first got into washing my car, you litterally just spray your window, crumple up some newspapers and wipe with them. Re: News paper for window's??
After you did your windows with newspapers you had ink on your hands...guess what you also left on your 'clean' windows.
I use dedicated MF towels that are for glass cleaning only. I have one set for interior and one for exterior (one set is white one is yellow.) I even go so far as to wash them separately from all my other MF towels.
My recipe for clean glass is wash then clay bar (on exterior glass, no need to wash or clay bar interior glass.) I then do everything else I'm going to do to the vehicle. For my very last step I then spray the glass cleaner onto my MF towel and wipe down glass followed immediately by another MF towel. I have had two complaints this summer that the windows are now TOO clean.Since they were from my wife and mother I told them to get used to it.
BTW: Don't forget to first roll the window down a couple of inches to get the top of the glass where it tucks into the weatherstripping. Then roll the window up and clean the glass. <----This too often gets overlooked & is my detailing pet peeve. Re: News paper for window's??
I sometimes use newspaper with good results. After spraying the glass with D120 concentrate (for me works better than Invisible Glass) and wiping with a balled up newspaper, I then buff the glass with microfiber. I find this leaves a streak free surface. I have learned that the final buff, whether you've used paper or microfiber to clean the glass, must be with a separate microfiber to insure there is no streaking. The microfiber used for cleaning the glass will be slightly damp and streak prone. I have not had a problem with ink print getting onto the glass.

Re: News paper for window's??
I've heard that newspaper (or cheap paper towel) works well for windows, but I tried it once and didn't like the fact the headlines were all over my hands!!!
I was using Meguiars No Smear Glass Cleaner (pretty sure it's an Aussie branded line) with glass microfibre towel and whilst it was OK, I always felt I wasn't getting the best result.
Now I use Autoglym Car Glass Polish with a quality microfibre towel and the results are stunning every time.
Just apply the polish to the towel, and work into the window similar to hand application of a compound or polish. Once done, allow to dry to a haze.
Use a second towel to buff off, and they look like new again!!
