  • Colorx Quick Question

How long does Colorx need to cure before topping it with NXT? Thanks

    Re: Colorx Quick Question

Same as any other Meguiars wax, 10-15 minutes is nice, 24 hours for best looks.

Thanks Murr - I mainly just don't want to replace what I did with the colorx with the NXT. I am on that Lexus I was telling you about and taking your colorx recommendation. It's been about 3 hours since I removed the colorx (looks great btw).

You'll be fine, and I am sure it will look great. Hard to beat for a fast detail.

Would the 24 hour wait apply to M16 also?
I use ColorX and then top it with 16.

Murr got me hooked on the ColorX/NXT combo; the folks at Meguiar's need to send Murr a Christmas card.

Yeah, same for everything. The longer you can wait, the little better the looks keep getting. You can use any time in between, not just those 2 time periods.

                Re: Colorx Quick Question

                For the paint, I did:

                Clay
                Hood SwrilX (water spots)
                Spot ScratchX / SwirlX
                ColorX (4 hour cure)
                M21 (15 hour cure)
                M26

It's raining so I can't take it out to look at it.. but it looks great in the garage!

ColorX is awesome, but I prefer M66 because of the extra bite. Check it out if you're ever in the market for a gallon size of ColorX substitute.

Thanks for that tip; I will get the M66 with my next order from ADS. Do you recommend the Meguiar's Dispenser Bottle (M9912) with the gallon size?

M66 looks to me like it would have a good bit more bite than ColorX. It's rated around M205/M80/SwirlX and I think ColorX is much milder than those.

There's one more all-in-one product with the newest technology - D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream. From my experience it's the best quick detailer suitable for rotary and DA. By choosing polisher/ pad combination you can control its cutting power. For example using it with rotary buffer and wool/ foam cutting pad will give you the most strenght.

Yes, or any other similar type dispensing bottle.

You will find out pretty quickly. M66 is a very under publicized product. It has never let me down.
