So I have this bottle of SwirlX that I have come to refer to as Squirrely Swrilly or just squirrely for short.
Now me and ole squirrely go back about year where we got into our first argument over a white vette, where he cost me all kinds of time trying to learn how to work with him. Over time, me and squirrely have had several other arguments because he keeps gumming up on me. He also seems to like my cars so much he sticks to them and is a royal pain about removal. At one point, I even kicked ole squirrely to the can, but later felt bad and dragged the little bugger back out knowing that 7 out of 10 times when an employee is not performing, it is the managers fault.
In all fairness, he has given good results from time to time, and he is the only megs product to ever argue with me. However, for the most part I have been wondering why all you folks on this forum like him so much.
Today I brought a black lexus rx350 in the garage and was expecting it to be in really good shape. Mostly it was, but as I was working with one of my really good friends, clay, I realized that the hood was covered in water spots and clay wasn't removing them for me.
After scratching my heads for a few minutes wondering why the driver of this car doesn't have sense enough to stay out of the rain
, I started to wonder what product to use. I really didn't want to break out UC as that's usually a two step process cause he needs a chaser.
A little agitated, I decided to wake up squirrely and try applying him by hand. But this time I was going to try it a little differently and I introduced him to LT (1:1). I gave the pad a quick shot of LT, taped off a square and rubbed squirrely in really good with quite a bit of pressure (I wanted to make sure I gave him a fair shot at removing the water spots). I sprayed down a MF with LT and, what do you know, squirrely came right off and so did the water spots. The taped square looked awesome and, I am not sure, but I thought I heard a little voice come from squirrely that said "how you like me now?" I thought to myself, well you worked but no way my arm is going to make it through this entire hood.
So I taped off another spot, went though the same steps but didn't apply much pressure. I also worked it in about half the amount of time as before. Same great result, except this time, I am quite certain I heard a faint whisper of "yea, your loving me now" from squirrely's bottle. About 45 minutes later and it was the best looking hood in west Tennessee.
Long story short, no I am not crazy but felt like having a little fun in this post. The lesson of the story is, if your having problems with SwirlX try using a little QD or 1:1 LT on the pad and the removal towel. And don't over work the product or let it dry long. It's think, so clean your pad often as it will gum up. Sometimes a DA is just not needed and a little elbow works out just fine. In the end, the results are hard to match.
