What is Simoniz Express Wax?

So I decided to take an experimental trip today. I took a car to the most reputable car wash establishment in my area. They had a special "hand wax" offer for $29.95. The conversation went like this:

Me: What type of wax is it?
Attendant: Simoniz Express Wax for newer cars and it looks really good.

Me: Is it a synthetic?
Attendant: Yea, I think so and it looks really good.

Me: So it's like a sealant then?
Attendant: Yes sir, and it looks great.

Me: Is it Carnauba?
Attendant: Yup, carnbauba and it looks really good.

After a little more conversation, I told him to go for it (I have plans for this car that start with clay anyway). The car went through the wash and then was pulled into the shade. The "Simoniz Express Wax", poured from a gallon container, was applied with a plastic orbital and what looked like a 9 inch pad. The 'wax' was applied with no regard for windows, headlights, or even trim really so I am guessing it doesn't leave a staining residue. Immediately after application it was wiped down. The surface feels semi slick and has a mild shine. All in all not a bad deal for $30 for an average Joe non-enthusiast.

So I am now on a mini mission to find out what this stuff really is. I have looked on the internet and can't find much info about it. I am guessing it is akin to a AIO cleaner/wax but that doesn't jive with the disregard for trim. I really want to know what it is so I can inform friends and family what to expect and what they are getting when they visit this establishment. Plus, it is just killing me that I can't figure out what it is.

Does anyone know what is "Simoniz Express Wax"?

I personally don't know anything about Simoniz Express wax, but i find it amusing that the attendant finished every line with "it looks great".

Yes, it was very hard to keep a straight face but I guess he was doing as instructed by management.

Yea, that's the sum total of my research too. It's an AIO wax, wheel and glass cleaner/polisher/sealant! I still know nothing about it unfortunately.

I did, not too long ago, take my BMW through a car wash on the way out of town. Slap me later but was pressed for time. When I pull in i get the sales pitch once they see the 7 series trying to get me to do the wax etc.

I said no i usually do it my self and very rarely use the full service car washes. He proceded to "lower" the price and explain how good the wax is and everything.

Finally I said look I detail it myself...I used Megs gold class....clay it with Megs professional clay then usually DA it with 205 if needed followed by M7 then a coat of M21 and topped with M16.......

He was like oh, my competition then..have a good day sir.....

I have a express wax from ECP that is for pro. use. I would say that most express waxes are about the same. The stuff I have is yellow in color and is very easy to use and leaves a very good shine . It lasts about a month maybe two months. They use it at the Toyota dealership that I work for on dark cars because it makes them look so good.

On the website, it says that it will remove swirls, did it remove swirls on your car?

This car is a color that doesn't really show minor swirls in sunlight and I didn't check under my lights before removing it. However, even if the product does remove swirls, it wouldn't have this time due to the manner in which it was applied. Unless, of course, it really is from krypton. It might have covered them up a bit but I couldn't tell and it's off now.

Sorry if I was unclear - I have no intention of using this product or a similar one. A lot of people use this service in my area, including my friends and family, and i just want to know what i am working with when cars come to me - can it be topped with NXT, ect. What the product claims to do doesn't really tell me what the product is.. Maybe one of you Megs guys knows what's in this product?

They use simoniz at the honda dealership my dad works for. IMO and IHO the stuff is one step above worthless. He says they use the cheapest stuff they can so that tells me right there how good simoniz is. Im sure it wont hurt anything but i wouldnt let someone put this stuff on my car for free nevermind pay for it when you know theres much better options. The car wash near my house features simon which is what first got me familiar with it.
