  • Question about polish

I am not a professional, just an enthusiast, so sorry if the question seems silly. I have recently detailed my car. I clayed with Megs Smooth surface clay, polished with Autoglym super resin polish and then used NXT 2.0 as a sealant.

So, does the NXT2 have cleaners in it? Did I strip the first layer of the polish (light sealant and fillers)? I hope I didn't waste my time.

    Thanks for reading.

    Re: Question about polish

Meguiars NXT tech wax doesn't have cleaners in it and its not abrasive so your polishing should be fine

      Re: Question about polish

Nxt does have very light cleaners.

But this has been asked, and there is no real exact answer. Any time you wipe a liquid around, there will be a cleaning action, and with some mild cleaners, you would expect Nxt or another wax to interact with the polish in some way.

But if you take a paint that looks different after polishing, the paint still looks better after the wax, so it is still there doing something, however they interacted.

You're fine. Anything in the NXT that someone might classify as a "cleaner" is there is such a small amount that you'll actually get more cleaning action from the applicator being rubbed over the paint than from the ingredients themselves.

Thanks for the replies! I just realised what I did after I finished and I got a bit worried
