The black bed cover and other plastic parts on my 2007 avalanche are begining to turn white, like they are dry. Any suggestions?

I think chevy had a recall for these problems. Idk if it's still covered or if it needed to be in the 3/36 warranty or not thought...

I used ultimate protectant on my 07 and it took the color back to black with 1 application. I never got or saw a recall for the problem, but im in sunny California and do not have to worry about road salts in my area like you do.

I also remember a recall about the cladding. I would check into it at your local dealer.

Otherwise I would give the Ultimate protectorant a shot at making it look new again.

There's no recall, just a TSB on the issue. They may offer to replace certain parts if the vehicle is under warranty but a 2007, I doubt it at this point. The "official" fix from GM is use a product called Gatorback. I've used a product called Refinish Restorer to completely restore to the original, better than new condition. After that, using Ultimate Protectant, All Season Dressing, etc will keep it looking good.

Jay, Future floor wax for all the cladding. It's cheaper than AIO and will last longer. Also doesn't run when it gets wet.

Refinish Restore is a product to look at for alternative to Gatorback. http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com...061.0/all.html
