  • Tips Please..

    Hi guys, i am after some advice, if you can help me out, thanks, so i'll just blast a few questions out to you;

    1. i am about to detail an interior which i think the dashboard and and other surfaces have not been treated in past, this is what i thought;

    to use Natural Shine, a great product which works exellent and i only have access to this product, i would apply this with a cotton terry towel first to remove grime ( would you recommend applying Natural Shine to towel or on surface directly ), then follow with an application with foam pad, would this procedure be correct?

    2. does ultimate wash & wax contain any conditioners as such

    3. does nxt tech wax 2.0 work well for chrome and wood

    4. what would you recommend to restore oxidised chrome, i was thinking something along the lines of PRC for that job.

    thanks, any advice would be well appreciated.

    Well, I think you are thinking that APC/QID would be best first, which is right.

    You could do 2 applications like you say. I wouldnt worry about foam so much, but a clean towel would be good for both coats.

    If it is real bad, and you have nothing else to clean with, you could always dilute some Dawn and dampen a towel. Not wet, but damp, and wipe around.

    I dont think it is like Gold Class in that respect, but it looks good.

    3. does nxt tech wax 2.0 work well for chrome and wood
    You can wax any smooth glossy surface. But carefull with the interior, wax is harder to remove from cloth, leather, etc if you let it stray.

    4. what would you recommend to restore oxidised chrome, i was thinking something along the lines of PRC for that job.
    The new SMAT (SwirlX, #105, UC) products do seem to work well as metal polishes, if you dont have a dedicated metal polish. PRC is a cleaner/wax of course, but also has a chance of working.

    Is this chrome on the interior?

      Hi there,

      thanks reply, the chrome is exterior not interior. i also have Swirl X, i could give that a try too, but i was thinking PRC for chrome as it does waxing and polishing step all at once as well as cleaning. also would you recommend spraying directly at surface or onto towel, plus there is no seperate procedure such as leaving product on surface for certain amount of time on previuosly untreated surfaces or anything like that is there?, also using a detergant wouldn't damage surface texture etc?

        I like to spray the towel in most cases.

        Usually, you would apply a dressing, let sit for 5 minutes, then wipe off excess. If the surface is dried out, it is possible it could soak in a bit during that time, so may want some more.

        Well, I wouldn't pour straight Dawn on... The concern would be bleaching out the color, not removing texture. But diluted down, and just a damp cloth, wipe around, then remove it, everything should be fine. Can always test on an out of the way spot first.
