  • It's my first time!

I've waxed my car in the past using that blue ice stuff, but I've never tried a professional style, quality, buffering, see your reflection kind of wax job.

Can anyone recommend a good step-by-step for a NEWBIE who wants to have that professional shine?

Here is my favorite easy detail:

    1. Wash - Gold Class soap, 2 buckets, Grit Guards if possible, quality towels, etc.

    2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit, maybe buy an extra QD bottle.

    3. ColorX

    4. Wax - Nxt 2.0 is good, just be sure to apply thin and let fully dry.

Of course you can get fancier, or may want something different if you have defects to remove.

      Welcome!

A step up from the over-the-counter line.

This is an example of steps and appropriate examples of corresponding products. Meguiar's offers some of the finest professional car care products available today. While Menzerna Polish PO85RD is not a Meguiar's product I noted it below because it's a bit finer that M205 and give the finish a bit better gloss.

      Clay
      Swirl Remover – Meguiar’s M105
      Finishing Polish – Meguiar’s M205
Finishing Polish – Menzerna Polish PO85RD
      Isopropyl Alcohol Clean
      Glaze - Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze
      Wax - Meguiar's #26 Yellow
