  • Truxedo Soft Tonneau - what to use?

What would you use to wash, maintain & protect a TRUXEDO brand tonneau?

It's the vinyl style soft tonneau.

The only thing they really say is "Never clean cover with petroleum or citrus-based products, and avoid silicone based protectants."

I used #40 on my Dad's new cover, looked very good last weekend, and still looks really good as of today.

I hope that is the right answer...

You can wash it with any of our car wash soaps and treat it with M40 as JoeDirt suggests, or even our Ultimate Protectant. Both are water based products but the UP contains some specialized polymers that will allow it to better withstand washing than your typical water based dressings will. Most all of those will wash away pretty easily simply because they are water based.

Our All Season Dressing is also pretty tenacious but is only available by the gallon and is not as readily available as UP.

When using UP, just make sure to thoroughly clean the surface first and then apply it sparingly, and work into the surface very thoroughly. It will dry to the touch in a matter of moments and shouldn't need to have any excess wiped off. If you apply it correctly at least!
