  • I have a question on cleaner wax

    Guys,

I got several bottles of cleaner wax form the clay bar kit.
I wanted to know when should i use it? and can I use it with DA via black HEX finishing pad.

I want to know if I do it after polishing with UC or SwirlX?
and then should I still top it with Gold Class Wax?

and side question, clean wax, sealant and wax are basically having the same goal - protect the paint, is that correct?
because sealant gives me a feeling that it will seal something, but thats what wax do seal - ie, protect the surface. Right?

    thanks,
    Steve

I think it's all in the matter of preference. The Cleaner Wax that is in the clay kit is a good in between all out details, spot corrections, or when the car is in good enough shape that you don't need to bring out the big guns!
I'm sure it would be fine using a finishing pad. I don't have any of the ones you mention so I can't really offer much advise on it.
You can top it off with GC, a lot of folks like the NXT/M26 or GC combos. I personally like the NXT/M26 combo as you get the added longevity of NXT and the deep shine of M26!

Re: I have a question on cleaner wax

Cleaner Wax is a All In One product. It's mostly used for maintenance rather than a complete detail. It's a great product when you don't have the time or don't need to preform a full 5 Step Detail to your car.

If your goal is maintain, then Cleaner Wax will be great because it has the ability to remove light defects like swirls, stains, etc. and protect the finish. You can always top it with another wax of choice if you prefer.

Re: I have a question on cleaner wax

how often can I use cleaner wax??

i mean on a DA with finishing pad on speed 2-3...
i think i will just spread, and then 2-3 passes, with only machine pressure.

is it too fast and too much passes?
or should i use some pressure?

You should be able to use it often as it only has a mild amount of cleaning power to it. Just enough to get rid of very minor scratches, swirls, stains....ect.

You'll be fine at that speed, I don't think it would hurt to apply a small amount of pressure

I usually apply AIO's/Cleaner Waxes at speed 4 with light-moderate pressure.

Re: I have a question on cleaner wax

Generally not a AIO fan, I will use cleaner wax on the roof of a big SUV or in the bed of a truck, when I have used other products on the rest of the car. I also use it on certain wheels. It saves a ton of time for hard to get areas, while still providing a good clean, shine and protection to areas that don't have to blend in with other areas of the auto.
