Yes, wash your car after claying, it helps to remove any clay left behind and any contaminants you happened to remove that still might be lingering on the paint.

I've never rewashed after claying. The QD and mf towels work just fine. The clay leaves no residue from itself, and I'm polishing right afterwards anyhow. In my own regimen, rewashing would be a wasted step. (Which is to say, if it works for you, do it; it works for me not to.)

I don't rewash. I move on to cleaner or polish.

              Hey,

Everybody has their preferences! I usually do not wash after claying either. I use a lot of claying lubricant (I use #34 Final Inspection) and thoroughly clean/wipe down the paint with a quality MF.

              Cheers!

I don't wash after claying either. If you left any clay it will be obvious when you wipe the lube off, as the wiping towel will stick. The new Meguairs clay does not leave clay behind like the old version did, and Clay Magic doesn't either.

Besides, if you did leave any clay residue behind, normal washing will not remove it. Best to do spot removal for that, you would need to keep rubbing until the clay comes off and possible use something like MPPC to help.

As long as you use enough lube, there should be no problems leaving clay on the paint.

it did cross my mind not to wash,i thought that the speedglazewould clean any residue left, off the truck, but after reading several people rewashed, i did not want to skip a correct step, next time i will not,i was amazed at how good the clay bar pulls the muck and stuff off the paint, and i was amazed at how smooth speed glaze got the paint to feel, like glass,i posted a couple of pics in the show off section,it a 2003 silvarado, pewter. also the G100 is the workhorse of the detail job, glad i found this site, will do my other cars soon..

Meguiar's doesn't specifically recommend that you re-wash after claying. As mentioned above, just do a good job of wiping off you lubricant and any claying residue with a premium quality microfiber polishing cloth of clean, soft 100% cotton towel as you move a long. When you're finished, you can safely move on to the next step.
