  • Purple Power?

Has anyone heard of this Purple Power stuff? I saw it at my local auto-parts store and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it?

It's inexpensive and hopefully will help my cleaning problem from my previous thread but I would like to know if it works.

    Thanks

      Re: Purple Power?

I bought a gallon of a purple cleaner/degreaser. It works very well for tires and such. Very comparable to Super Degreaser. Cost wise, Super Degreaser would win because you can get the same effect with a dilutable product.

        +1 for Super Degreaser!

I use it mainly to clean engine bays and it works wonders. Check out this before/after that I did on a GMC Sierra 2500 HD Duramax Diesel truck: http://majeika.com/Detailing_by_Majeika/Photos.html#4

Stunning results, with very little effort. In my opinion, like Tyler said, Super Degreaser is a very cost-effective solution.

I've never used Purple Power, but take a look at the MSDS from the link All of 75 provided above; it states, "Avoid contact with reactive metals". I'd be careful using around aluminum.

                Re: Purple Power?

I use it for everything- washing out the bedliner of my Jeep, scrubbing tires, diluting it for interior, cleaning carpets. not sure if its harmful to metals, although it is a possibility. I have used it on many wheels and gotten a lot of brake dust off though.

I'll give it a try and get back to all of you. I just want something for engine bays and carpets that's readily available. Thanks
