  • Need some advice to move more deeper to detailing world

    Greeting everyone,

Been doing a lot of reading and searching since i join this forum. Really grateful and happy what I learn from this forum for my personal detaling interest.
But still need you guys to en-light me.

I planning to move more deeper so I come with some decision need to be make so i need some advice and comment from all forumers.
Cause already caught detailing poison already

My personal aim to get high gloss until can see my face at the car bonnet. Now I'm driving a Toyota VIOS'03 Crystal White paint from the past owner.
This car have weekly car wash and wax.

Planning to get some machine to help out my little detailing world and have been reading alot ROB and RB machine different plus some pad info and product.

    The question is :-

Didn't plan to do heavy correction to save my clear coat for future emergency correction.
Planning weekly or 2 time per month for surface cleaning and preparation to maintain high gloss and slick.
Alot of finishing products also have mild abrasive so is it good for weekly or 2 time per month maintenance basic?
Is it wise to use ROB compare RB? What kind of pad and product is suitable?

Below have some picture about my car paint due to white and light.. Alot imperfection have been hide ..

    Thanks you

    Vios

If you're going to be doing some light maintenance every two weeks, understanding that you have some very unique climate in Malaysia, you should probably stick with just a good cleaner wax like ColorX or even D151 PRC. Applied lightly with a ROB will do an excellent job of cleaning the paint without being overly aggressive for regular use. Stick with a foam polishing pad for this.

Once a year or so you can step up and do some more aggressive correction, if needed, using something like Ultimate Compound (if available in your area), M105 or even just the D151 applied more aggressively. D151 is a very versatile product and can be used effectively with a rotary buffer and a wool pad for serious correction, all the way down to a cleaner wax type application.
