Ok today i got out of school early so i was going to go by the coin opp car wash. Since i got out early i was gonna use my own cleaners and just use their water cause the outside water at my house is shut off(Its kinda cold out). So any way I never maid it up to it but i was thinking there has to be a way to wash a car with out a hose. I was thinking of a way similiar to qew although i have never used the stuff i have read about it and have a fairly good idea. So heres what i did.
    * first i i got out three buckets. Car soap(i used gold class) empty #34 bottle(any spray bottle will work. 2 sheep skin wash mits. and drying towels(I used 1 waffle weave and a blue mf from target works pretty good but once its saturated its done you have to go to a fresh towel)
*I filled 2 of the wash buckets up with pretty warm water and the 3rd with a relatively lot of gold class soap and warm water(i tried not to make a lot of suds so it wouldbe easier to rinse). Then i mixed the normal amount of soap that i would use to wash the car normally into the spray bottlewith more water.

Ok now heres how i did it
*i only worked on one panel at a time working my way down the car.
    1. take the spray bottle with the soapy water and wet the are you are going to clean.
    2. take one of the wash mits and dip it into the bucket with the soapy water and wash as you would normally. Dip that mit into one of the other 2 buckets that has clean water and use that like you would the 2 bucket method.
    3. Use the remaining wash mit in the clean water and really wet it then go over the panel agin with the soap.(when i washed it i added lots of soap so it would be like a lube. But tried not to make many suuds so it would be easy to remove). Try to almost wipe up the suds/soap dipping back into the rinse bucket as needed. you probably may have to add more water to this bucket.
    4. by now any soap that was on there before you got to this part is extremely dilluted from wiping with the wash wit and water i then use the waffle weave towel to wipe up the water on there its ok if there is a slight trace of soap. I then follow that with a totally dry blue mf (the one from taget) and dry totally.
    5. i use the remainging water and soap and clean the wheels and tires this way.
***I only do one panel at a time finishing it before going on to the next.***
    * I hope this helps sorry it kinda long didnt know how else to explain it, it worked fairly good for me and im pretty sure i didnt cause any swirls.

This process sounds really good. The only concern I would have is the presence of marring after washing. If the car wash soap provides enough lubrication it shouldn't be a problem though. How dirty was your car before you started? Do you notice any marring now?

i dont believe that i introduced any new swirls to my finish but i am still in need to do a full detail. It is kinda cold here in md and the products wont set up properly for me to do it. The car is dirty agin today because a heavy fog rolled in last night and it rained pretty mucyh all day so i might ibe able to take a few pics now.
*the car car yesterday when i did it was pretty dirty but that shouldnt be a problem just change the bucket of water that has the soap in it. You should give it a try and let me know what you think. Thanks Greg.

Be extremely careful with that method. Especially after the weather warms up and you decide to really detail the car. I do something similar, but only after I use a high pressure hose. I lightly rinse the whole car. This rinses the loose stuff off. Then use the high pressure to get the dirt and grime off before rubbing it with anything. Even then, I really soak the mitts and squeeze out a lot of it onto the panel I'm getting ready to rub down. That way there's lots of soapy water on it when I rub it. Hope this helps.
