  • Dual-Action Polisher Info Needed

Hi everyone, I am new to the Forums here at Meguiar's. I have been reading posts here for about 2 weeks and have found a lot of useful information. Thanks to all of you for that.

I do have some questions of my own if any one could help that would be great.

Can someone give more detail on the G-100a than what is listed on the Meguiar's Store site about the G-100a.

Does it come with the Dual-Action Polisher Backing Plates with the Velcro® backing system?

    What Pads come with it?

Any other diff between the PC 7424 and the G-100a.

Thanks in advance for any input.

As far as I know the G-100A is the PC 7424. The only difference (as far as I know) is that Meg's comes with a lifetime warranty where Porter Cable's is only a year.

I can't tell you if it comes with the backing plate or any pads because I got mine elsewhere

The meguiars and porter cable are the same, the only difference is the Meguiar's logo and the warranty. The porter cable will run you about $130 with a one year warranty and the Meguiar's one is about $160 with a lifetime warranty! I had to drop $40 to get my DeWalt rotary fixed once so I figured the extra $30 is quite possibly well worth it in the long run. Plus, I've been told Meguiars sends you a new one upon reciept of the broken one! Don't quote me on this.

I recently bought mine, no backing plate with it. Had to buy them separately, but with the buffer, backing plate, a set of pads and a bottle of dual action cleaner polish I was just a tad over $230. But once you see the results it becomes worth it.

        Thanks for the info

Rick where did you find the Meguiar's one for $160 it's listed for $225.95 on the web site.

You said the one you bought recently did not have the backing plates. Did you buy the Meguiar's one or another brand.
