  • Not looking for a byist opinions

I have noticed that a lot of guys on here use gold class car wash or deep crystal car wash soap. I know we here a all Meguiar finatics but can you really say without a doubt that one company's car wash soap is better than the other? Can you really tell a difference. If so, whats so special about Meguiars?
Am i obsessed?? A car is the second biggest financial investment for most people, why not keep it looking better than new?

While most of us on this site like Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner, there are some that do not. I think it comes down to personal preference. If you look around the internet, you will notice that MANY people like GC shampoo.

GC shampoo has a pH level of 8. It's designed not to strip your wax, yet clean. The conditioner help maintain essential oils. GC also provides good lubrication to help prevent scratching the paints surface. It foams fairly well. It smells good.

Basically it's a well balanced product. You can find other products that clean better, ie. dish soap but it will also strip your wax and dry out your paint. You can find products that foam better, you can find products lubricate better... etc.

It's all about finding the balance that works for you.

Megs wont strip wax or dehydrate paint like a few other car washs on the market. Its only a few bucks more and def worth it.

Gold Class also has lubricity. It lifts the dirt away from the paint. I can honestly say, I can see a difference. I was skeptical at first. Thought it was all hype. It is not. There is a difference.

Absolutely a huge difference. My favorite soaps are NXT and Ultimate Wash and Wax, but any of the Meguiar's soaps beat the competition.

Re: Not looking for a byist opinions

I first tried Gold Class because it was on sale. I then saw it was used here by experienced detailers working with older cars, delicate paint, lots of flaws, and potential for lots of liability.

I haven't found fault or any reason to doubt their judgment. The cars were special, the resulting work was special, hence... (for me) Gold Class: proof is in the pudding

And gratitude for the forum. And loyalty because it is free. And my car looks great and the wax bonds for a long time because there is nothing between it and the cc, thanks to Gold Class.

Just Give Gold Class a try. It will speak for itself.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
                Remove swirls my friends.

Re: Not looking for a byist opinions

Personally, the best soap I have used is the Red Satin from Showroom FX. My second favorite soap is Chemical Guys Wash and Gloss.

The Red Satin is hands down the most lubricating soap I have worked with. The first time I used it I laughed because the wash mitt slid across the paint so effortlessly.
CG Wash and Gloss makes my list because of how highly concentrated it is. 1/2 an oz is enough to wash an entire car and 2 oz is enough to strip any LSP from the paint.

I'm not a big fan of the Gold Class soap and ended up giving it to my parents.

I have not tried any other Meguiar's soap, so I can't comment on them.
