  • Sour milk smell and residue removal

Hey guys, i had a fellow hunting partner drop off his vehicle today for an interior/exterior detail. He told me about a week ago that a buddy of his was helping put groceries in his vehicle and on the way home a gallon of milk fell off the seat, in between the 2nd and 3rd rows of his ford explorer broke open and leaked about a quart (1/4 gallon) of milk across the footing area of whole 3rd row, under drivers side 2nd row seat and into driver side 2nd row seat footing area. He took his vehicle to a dealership and had it "nuked" with some sort of a chlorine bomb or something, however the smell is still there. He also said he shampooed his vehicle heavily the next 2 days after he had found the milk sitting in the vehicle (3 days after it broke open, vehicle sat in garage).

What would be your guys to-to product(s) for this and how would you go about cleaning it. Would you remove seats? Please let me know as i want to minimize this as MUCH as i can!

He also wants the vehicle returned to him with the carpets wet so he can bomb it one more time at home and hope to remove more of the smell after i do a thorough cleaning on it.

I'd probably **** as much as I can out with a wet / dry vac, then use my steamer to kill the smell. Probably spray some odor eliminator in after the steam.

If possible I would remove the seats. Shampoo the area a few times. Extract as much as possible. Then use odor eliminator.

As stated, thoroughly clean the interior surfaces first

These organic stains (i.e. milk, blood, vomit, urine) should be removed with an enzyme type cleaner and a disinfectant applied to the area
