Say bye bye swirl. You'll be able to tack that easily with the DA tomorrow.

Re: DA inbound!! how many pads do i need for

This doesn't look very good after swirl x was applied.

I think swirl x is pretty mild product and you need to do 3,4 passes before seeing any result/improvement. This of course depends on paint/it's condition, etc.

Ultimate compound is stronger product of a similar kind, but way more efficient. No marring at all, and swirls go away effectively.

Good luck with v2, it is a top machine and result is very different to the hand application. Waaaaaay easier!!!

I have not done it yet, I cut myself yesterday with a razorblade boxing up something to ship, Anyway i think i might need to get some more products so i can "layer accordingly" As far as wax i just got a while ago a big of collinite 476, now i would like to use that rather than waste it,,i did not know you could top nxt with a carnuba wax, can i do that with the collinite?

Here is the same area i did with the DA today and swirl x. I had to do it two times, though it did not take long i could have went slower one the first one, I am learning.

Looks great. There is a learning curve. You will get it down. Huge improvement. Way to go.

Yep thanks, i loaned my swirl x to a friend today to use on his truck so now i get to test M80 on another area, should i use a different pad if i use 80? I believe your suposed to use a seperate pad for each product. The one that i used swirl x with i just put back in the bag it came with. Is that ok

                thanks

Re: DA inbound!! how many pads do i need for

Fantastic first time work! SwirlX is pretty mild stuff, so your paint must be fairly soft or workable. M80 should work pretty well on that paint too.

Keep doing what you're doing - it's looking great!

Thank you very much, i think the key thing was that i had "passion" behind the machine. Is it ok that i put the pad for swil x back in its bag? It had minimal build up on it.

Re: DA inbound!! how many pads do i need for

You can definitely see where you stopped buffing!! That's a huge improvement for a first time user.

As for putting the pad back in the bag, just make sure there is good air circulation so as not to promote mold growth. Even with just minimal product contamination it's probably not a bad idea to throw the pad in the washer and dryer with the towels you used.

When using many pads it's probably best to separate them from towels when washing, but if you only used a couple of pads and a handful of towels, they should be fine all washed/dried together.
