  • Problem with water beading, when it dries

Well I try to do my car washes quick and as fast as I can, but I recently had to do a car wash in the middle of the sun and well, I tried to dry up the car as fast as I can. Ok well the beaded water dried up, and well I tried using Quik Detailer to remove them but I'm having trouble, it's not coming off. Using water would be my last resort as that's what caused the problem.

Anyways if this would help I use NXT Tech Wax 2.0 and Meguiar's Carnauba Wax.

All I can resort to is using water or use Ultimate Compound on it (UC and water is like my last last resort)

After using UC, UP, and UW... I'm not happy with smooth as glass.

Well, if you got quick stubborn water marks, a mild cleaner like SwirlX may be needed.

    Thoughts on washing:

You are putting the Meguiars Deep Crystal on top of the Nxt? I wouldnt, the DC is meant to bead, Nxt is meant to sheet.

Also, flood the paint at the end, so you get a few drops left behind as possible.

No I put NXT on top of Deep Crystal, I like Deep Crystal's shine. Swirlx, alright I'll try it out tomorrow, thanks for the suggestion

Try washing one panel at a time, and dry it completely before moving on to the next panel.

Not sure how you would do this without getting water on the panel you just washed and dried?

I have a black mustang and wash it in the FL sun all the time. I was the roof and windows and rinse, then dry it. The the hood, wash then dry. Then I do the side that is out of the sun first and then dry it. Lastly I do the side in the sun and wash dry it. It's pretty easy to not get the other panels soaked, a little mist might get on it but not much. I only wash this way when it's really hot out, otherwise I just keep the car wet, drench the car constanly and then dry the side in the sun first.

You might consider buying a jug of Optimum No Rinse. You wash and dry the car, panel by panel--no water spots. It will save you a lot of aggravation!

I do it all the time.

                    It's not impossible.

There are two ways to do this. I use the two bucket method (my method). One bucket is filled with car wash shampoo, and the other bucket is filled with pure water with a good size sponge. I start by cleaning the hood, or the trunk. I have a convertable, and usually have the top down while doing this, otherwise I would start with the top. I grab a sponge from the soapy water bucket, and gently squeeze the solution onto the finish, whereas the solution can break up and loosen any debris on the finish. I then wash the panel with the sponge as normal. After the panel is clean, (the hood or the trunk) I use a hose to rinse it. I do the vertical panels last. When it comes time to rinse those, I use the sponge that is sitting in the other bucket filled with pure water. I start at the top, and gently sqeeeeze the sponge, and fresh water rinses that panel.

I have done this a hundred times, and have never came even remotely close to getting water inside my car. I use the hose to rinse the wash sponge frequently.

This is considering you haven't entered your car in the Baja 1000, or drove through Hurricane Hugo or something. In that case, you would need a pressure washer on the entire vehicle.

if you can avoid the sun, avoid it and always do wash your car in a shaded area. i live in a tropical country and water marks are always a problem when washing under direct sunlight.

I do the same thing every time I wash my truck or SUV. You end up with a little mist / overlap that gets dried twice but a big deal all things considered - would rather do that than deal with water spots.

Going to try ONR on my truck one panel at a time later this week in a hotel parking lot. Should be good for a few interesting looks from the hotel staff and other guests.

One thing I do is constantly keep the car wet until I'm ready to dry it. If I see that the roof is starting to dry up or the side that's facing the sun, I give it a few seconds of water to keep it wet until I'm ready to dry the entire car.
