(well i accidently did click on that, now when i post something i notice on the left of the page where the little icon of an envelope shows, there is a little weird icon next to all of mine only)

Checking everything I could find in my User CP, I have no ability to subscribe to Forums.

I can subscibe to threads and, in the User CP, I have the ability to unsubscribe from threads. As far as I can tell, the subscription function only enables notification to you by email if the thread you're subscribed to gets updated.

Perhaps your user id has an option turned on that by permitting subscription to Forums, has caused confusion?

        HI wblynch,

        Here's what he's talking about,

You'll see this option in the upper right after clicking on and opening up a forum catagory.

I've never clicked on that tab on any discussion forum and now I'm not sure I want to.

I'll try to find out what's happing.

The dots show which forums have new posts you haven't read

So instead of clicking "view new posts" if you only look in a certain forum, the dot will be highlighted or shaded in or something to that extent when you return to the forums and there are new posts in that part of the forum

Thanks Mike. I couldn't seem to get that option to come up this morning and I tried many different ways to get there.

Once subscribed to a forum, you can easily unsubscribe by clicking the USER CP button at the top. The User Control Panel will show a list of Subscribed Forums where you can simply click "Unsubscribe" and voila!, it's done.

            Take care, Bill

Click on the button that says "USER CP" up on the right. Then you'll see a list called "Subscribed Forums". Just click on the "unsubscribe" button there.
