I have a Meguiars Ultimate Wipe from last year that I need to replace. I saw some Microtech Baby blue/White MF's that felt pretty decent at Wal-Mart. Am I better off with a new Ultimate Wipe or do these do the job? I also bought some "Premium" 100% Terry clothes and wanted to know if these were OK to use to remove some of wax before going over it with my old Meguairs MF. Thanks.

Autopia has some mixed results on there MF's. They also had some "Black Magic" smaller MF cloths that are a little more pricey. These any good?

The microtech Blue & white MFs are not considered to be very good. Wallmart sells a large MF drying towel 6.5 sq ft which seems to be getting decent reviews and is reasonably priced.
For the most part it appears that "you get what you paid for".
Suggest you do a search over on Autopia.

those baby blue/white mfs from wal-mart cost around 5 for 5pk. i've been using them and they work better than cotton towels to remove wax. if you can use them 10 times, you got your moneys worth. maybe not the best around, because they can't compare to my Megs MF, but for the price, I buy a bunch and work fine.Reflections

The Black Magic mfs are decent, about as good as the ones offered by Patrick at Excel Detail, but about a buck more per towel. The BIG mf drying towel offered at Walmart is pretty good, better than the wrapped bundle. The Turtle Wax towels are good, and the Viking towels found at KMart are pretty good too. I've used all of these towels myself, except the wrapped bundle; I thought they would be inadequate, just by looking at them, but I've been wrong before and will be wrong again, so ymmv. ALL of the ones I've used have been acceptable in quality; I've had some of them a couple years, through repeated washings.
3M towels are poor. Meg's towels are OK.
For cotton terry weave towels, the Martha Stewart 4 Star towels at KMart are exactly the same in feel and plushness as the Koala towels offered (at 2x the price) through the internet channels.
And that's what I know about commonly available towels! As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

I've used many, many of the WalMart MF's. They are adequate, meaning they never scratched and removed product OK. But they do shed ALOT. Not big lint you can pick off easily, but tiny lint that gets all over, and looks like the car was misted with something. Also, they don't stay "square" after a wash. All of mine are now parallelograms or other funky shape. Not too big a deal, but makes folding them in 1/4's harder.
They do seem to last a while, though. I've had some well over a year, used ALOT, and they are still in good shape.
I got some others from Exceldetail, and now my WalMart ones are for non-paint type work. I also just received a Meg's Ultimate Wipe yesterday, but haven't had the chance to use it yet. Weather permitting, it'll be used tomorrow when I add some #16 over NXT. I'll also be trying out some Meg's Ultimate Bonnets, too. Looking forward to a good day!
