    LED Lighting



    These are new at Autogeek. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any success with LED lighting?

    The idea of LED lighting is great, low heat, long last bulbs, long lasting batteries, durable etc. but do they work well for finding swirls?

    I personally tried my LED flashlight and it didn't work very well, where under the same conditions the Brinkmann Xenon was awesome. Hopefully these new LED lights work.

      Xenon, LED, Halogen all have different color temperatures. I have a few SureFire Tactical lights on my AR-15's and AK-47's that are LED's and when I shine them on my black truck and the truck looks great. Shine a Xenon light on them and its swirl city! Go to a gas station at night where the light fixtures use High Pressure Sodium you will get different results. Different color temperature types of bulbs will show something different.

      I use a SureFire G3 Xenon when I detail. All my other SureFire's have been upgraded to LED and I have at least 15 on my long guns and one in each vehicle and a few around the house.

        I'm hoping they upped the quality of the housing for the Brinkmann series. I never bought another one after it shorted from a waist high fall to the ground. LED lights work, but you need the right beam pattern and lumens for it to work properly. Thats why I bought a Fenix TK11R2, its been tested and proven to exceed the Brinkmann series. That and it'll dent your floor as opposed to breaking itself

          I'll learn from your experience and try to be very careful with the Brinkmann. Perhaps the new LED units are more robust. It's difficult to tell from the photo.

            I haven't charged my Fenix in over 3 months and I've used it a few times a week for a few minutes each time haha. The battery management of that flashlight is crazy so I just keep it in my car. Its also small and light so it can go anywhere, unlike the Brinkmann when I had it

            Yup. If in doubt, put a camera strap to it or a wiimote strap to it
