  • Need Some Advice

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion (Tuxedo Black Metallic) in color.

I'm looking to detail the cars exterior and would like some advice on what products to use.

I'm considering purchasing either the Meg DA or PC DA or I may just stick with doing it by hand. I just haven't decided yet.

Here's the details... the car is 7 months old and has some light scratches & swirl marks (most likely from improper washing / drying techniques).

I'm planning on washing it (2 bucket method) and then claying it.

After that, I'm not sure. I'd like to get the blackest, wetest look possible but as I said, it's a metallic paint, even though the flakes are crushed glass and not conventional metal flakes.

Any & all advice is appreciated.

    Thanks!

I have the same color but on an '09 Fusion. I had good luck with the cleaner wax, polish, and gold class wax combo. Really made the metallic POP! Good luck

        Look at:

        1. Wash - Gold Class soap, 2 buckets, Grit Guards, quality towels, etc..
        2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit
        3. Clean - SwirlX. Can be handy to have Ultimate Compound on your shelf also.
        4. Polish - Optional - Deep Crystal Polish is easy to use, and will help give the best look.
        5. Wax - Have some options here, could do 2 thin coats of Nxt 2.0, or Nxt followed by Gold Class Plus, or or two coats of Gold Class Plus.

        6. Maintain - Ultimate Quick Wax is good for after future washes.
2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
