  • golf club paint finish

Anybody here ever applied a Meguiar's product to the paint finish of a golf metal wood?
My Ping brand metal woods are new and the black finish the company uses is not of high quality durability. It's a gloss black color with clear coat top. The paint has faint scratches , most likely caused by me wiping the club head with a towel.
Assuming golf club paint and clear coat is not as good a quality as auto paint, do you think I might damage the club if I tried ScratchX on its paint ? Or, should I try my Gold Class Plus paste wax, would that possibly remove light scratches? I do not own any Swirlx but I could get some.
All suggestions or opinions appreciated and welcomed, thanks.

Yes, I have gotten some strange looks when I've told people I've polished and waxed my drivers! I have used ScratchX and other polishes and have had excellent luck in removing scratches from the headcovers and dirt. Top with any wax and you will look good on the links!

What brand-model is your golf club ?
For the past few years I've played Ping Rapture metal woods. A gloss black finish but good durability. My practice on the course is to regularly wipe down clubs with a cotton towel, and it is nearly impossible to keep the towel clean while on the course. The Rapture paint never showed scratches.
I recently started using Ping i15 metalwoods and the gloss black on that model line is not as durable as the Rapture paint. I expect every time I wipe the heads with a towel it is adding scratches. Poor paint quality finish is my opinion.

That driver is a Taylor Made. I also have a Ping, and it seems like the TM has thicker paint than the Ping, but the Ping still responds well to paint cleaners and wax, just don't use anything too aggressive.
