  • Question about M07

    Hey there,

I'm using Meguiars-Product since 3 years now and im really happy with it.
I just ordered a bottle of Mirror Glaze #7 for a nice wet deep look of my black car.
My car is scratch/swirl free and very shiny.
So how can I use the #7? Should I remove the wax before I use it or should I do another round with ScratchX/SwirlX?

I'm using two layer of #16 wax on it. Does #16 exists anymore in the U.S? I was just in Vegas and I didn't see it anymore in the store.

I got a G125 DA "Exzenter-Machine". Should I use #7 with it or by hand with a pad?

Any ideas how I can get it more shiny than #7? Should I apply NXT or #16 wax on #7?

    Pic of my car added.

    Greetings from Switzerland

In my humble opinion, nothing will get more gloss than #7. Since it has no protective qualities, you will need to cover it with a sealant or wax, which will deepen the gloss somewhat if you choose the right product. You can apply #7 by hand or with an orbital, but it's extremely important to apply it thin, and I mean real thin. Otherwise it will cake up and be extremely difficult to remove. I've tried numerous products, looking for something with comparable gloss, but easier to apply. So far, I've found no equal to #7.

        Thanks for ur helpful answer.
Do I need to remove the wax before I use #07?
Or just clean the car and polish it?

I think I'll wax it with #16 after.

Dont have to, but could be a good idea to use a mild cleaner.

SwirlX would be mild, or even something milder like #9.

I just cleaned it with ScratchX about a month ago. So does it get more gloss with SwirlX?
Or does #07 need to have a wax free surface?

it does not need to be wax free, but it does have to be completely clean. i would wash then clay it and see how it looks. if it is flawless than apply some m07 and then wax it. if there are some water spots or anything on the paint that doesnt make it look perfect, then polish it with swirlX or something like that. then the m07 and wax.

Its one of those things where the answer is maybe.

#7 will want a dirt free surface. If your car were a daily driver, parked outside, etc, might be good to get it cleaned off.

SwirlX and #9 both have polishing oils in them, but there will be a lot more from the #7.

                  Re: Question about M07

Will detailing the whole car with Swirl X remove all the existing wax, polish, sealant .. from earlier applications?

What is the best way to remove all 'cosmetics' and start with the process from the scratch?!?

                  Thanks

Yes, a good wash, clay if needed, and SwirlX or any good cleaner will remove everything from before.

                        Re: Question about M07

Anything DC1 and up would be a strong enough paint cleaner to remove wax/polish.

Of course diluted degreaser, APC, dawn, bug and tar removers, etc would also remove wax.

What would be a good safe diluted ratio for APC+ to be used on paint?

I believe the ratio for dewaxing with the APC, degreaser kind of products is around 20:1. But much like using Dawn, not something I worry about too much
