It's a matter of timing...

Once again, it's raining, storming and my garage is too small to work in....

So here is two questions with multiple parts troubling my mind today.

1)
(Optimal Cure Time = best amount of time before applying a second coat of the same or similar product. Minimal Cure Time = suggested least amount of time before applying an second coat.) I know NXT Tech has a optimal cure time of 12 hours.

Does Gold Class have an optimal cure time?

Does #26 have an optimal cure time?


2)
When applying Ultimate Quik Wax or Ultimate Quik Detailer does Cure Time come into play? What is the Minimum Cure Time for a freshly waxed car that had

NXT Tech?
or
Gold Class?
or
#26?

Or is it best on this freshly waxed car to wait until the next washing and when drying the car to use Ultimate Quik Wax?

Or is it best on this freshly waxed car to wait until the first rain, bird dropping or light dust removal to use Ultimate Quik Detailer?

Basically with UQW and UQD, can you use them too soon and is it a redundant, possibly wasted effort, if used right away?

OK, lots of questions and few direct answers but "Oh well"....

Optimum "cure times" may be twelve hours. Minimum "cure time" can be almost immediately. Don't sweat the "cure time" all that much.

Because I wax my trucks frequently (every month or two), I do not apply a second coat of wax nor do I attempt to layer wax. However, I wax my black Harley Davidsons after every wash because there's not heck of a lot to wax.

Because there is really no rush to get on a second coat of wax, I'd wait until you have plenty of time, wash your car and then wax it again using your product of choice. That takes care of any "cure time" issues.

Ultimate Quick wax is intended to enhance your waxed vehicle. I use it on my trucks when I have a little time on my hands. My Harleys always get an application of "real wax". Sometimes "real wax" can be applied almost as quickly as a spray "quick wax".

From your signature, it appears that you have black vehicle. I drove black vehicles for over thirty years. I finally matured and came to my senses when I hit 65. However, my Harleys are both black. To make black really "pop", I suggest an application of NXT 2.0 and for your second coat use some P21S Carnauba Paste Wax or S-100 Paste Wax (same stuff but it claims to be for motorcycles). This is an easy on/easy off wax. Unfortunately it is not all that durable but it's almost as easy to use as a spray wax. S-100 is available at most Harley Davidson dealerships. A much more durable option would be some Meguiar's #16 if you can find it. However, #16 can be a real PIB to remove.

Thanks for your responses. My numerous questions are really related to two separate issues. First, I wish to become proficient with three central Meguiar's consumer products, NXT, Gold Class and #26.

Secondarily, if I clean up a friend's car I want to be able to recommend the best time and soonest time to use UQW and UQD for each of those waxes. UQD is my favorite product. I wish to use it or recommend it under the best or optimal circumstances and yet as soon as practical to offer the best protection for my friends' cars. Especially when they don't have the time nor inclination for some serious concerned car care.

As far a chill'n', I'm walking out the door at the end of the month at the end of a nearly 30-year career (retiring). So I be chill'n' just fine!!!

Congratulations on the retirement! Now that you've got the time, try a couple coats of NXT 2.0, then drop a few coats of P21S on the top. As noted, it's not very durable and usually refered to as a beauty wax, but with it's dramatic results now coupled with all your extra time; who cares?

Wouldn't recommend it for others, but if you really want your personal vehicle to pop, it's just about the best I've ever found. Meg's 26 is a more durable, nearly pure wax.
