Yellow wax, or M26, looks great on dark colored cars. IT gives them depth that NXT2 does not. But NXT2 does give you a fantastic shine and durability that Yellow Wax does but not as long as NXT2.

I forgot to mention i have a frost white civic so yellow wax probably isnt gonna have the full effect that it does to a darker color car huh?

Right on the money. It probably wont give you the wow factor that it does the darker colors. Now that's not to say that u cant buy some to have around just in case but I think u will find the best results with NXT 2.0.

Thats true, so how do i get the wow factory? I know clay then UC but is there another step to do after the UC besides the 2 layers of wax?

            Re: Yellow wax

The wow factor is generated by polishing, i.e., by removing scratches and swirls by the abrasive polishing of the paint surface. This polishing requires the proper tools (a DA polisher, pads, polishes, etc) and lots of work.

If you aren't ready yet to invest yourself in polishing, you probably won't create that "WOW!" look you'd like to see. But you can make the paint look a lot better by removing above-surface contaminants through a claybar and cleaning the paint of stains through either a dedicated paint cleanser (SwirlX) or a cleaner wax (Cleaner Wax or ColorX). And then, when the paint has been prepped, apply two coats of your preferred wax or sealant. You will be very pleased with what you see.

                  Re: Yellow wax

My general rule is if I do full detailing (the 5-step), I would use pure wax like Yellow Wax, M21. I will also always apply 2 coats.

Other times, for simple wash and wax, I will use Cleaner Wax, GC, or NXT. If I have time, I will apply a 2nd coat and the second coat is always pure wax.

In my mind, NXT, GC and Cleaner Wax are all-in-one products. If I am doing the other steps separately, why use all-in-one?

J/K! I agree, it's all in the polishing.

I've never heard anyone call NXT or GC an all-in-one. Neither of them polish or remove swirls (besides possibly visually).

Each car is different. What works on one car may not work on the other. Just go ahead and see what you like. If you like the results, then it's a success. I like the way Cleaner Wax looks on white paint, personally.
