  • UQW - on windows - amazing stuff

I was real skeptical in using this amazing stuff...."Ultimate Quik Wax"{that i use on everything else} on my car windows INSIDE & OUT however i took a chance and let me tell you i have never looked back - the clarity and the beading the water does when it rains is absolutely incredible, no streaks , no film , no grime , no greasey residue - NO NOTHING - well maybe something ....a crystal clear window that i was so apprehensive about.. i will NEVER AGAIN use another glass cleaner so long as Meguiars continues to sell such a remarkable product - i can't say enough good things about your company and your product line. I dont know what the hell(can i say that) i was thinking and doing all these years while you were getting such outstanding ratings.

Thank you for being you Meguiars. Keep up the awesome work - you clearly are all about the consumer.

Inside too? Are your windows tinted?
I ask because not sure if UQW is safe on tinted windows.

I tried UQW on windshield and windows, only outside. It's like RainX but more easy to apply, not sure of its durability.

I like to make sure if UQW is safe for tinted windows before I apply to the insides.

i have used UQW on my windows for awhile now myself, but only on the outside. i clean the inside of the windows, but dont see a use for the wax on the inside, that and i am not sure if it is safe for tinted windows.

i have a question though, you said you will never again use another glass cleaner as long as meguiars makes UQW? i dont know how much cleaning the UQW can do, but i use some meguiars glass cleaner which gets them really clean and then use the UQW to get that sexy shine on them

Glad to hear you love the product!

I certainly do too and i have been the main member on here preaching to use UQW on windows. Others stick with their RainX, some also like UQD.

Just remember that UQW is not a Glass Cleaner, but a Wax/Sealant.

Before using UQW on your windows (Outside Only) you should use a high quality glass cleaner, such as Meguiars Glass Cleaner Concentrate.

I actually wanted to try this. I've never used a spray wax before, but I am starting to see how they could be useful for nooks and crannies, as well as glass. Is it safe to assume that the NXT Spray Wax would provide the same results?

Bought UQW today and tested it on windows & paint.

Yes, it's a fantastic product, amazing on glass.

Sorry, but I like it more then any other glass product from megs line ..

No. UQW makes use of some very specialized hydrophobic polymers that cause it to shed water like crazy. That's why coopstah is seeing the results he is on glass. None of our other spray waxes contain these ingredients so they won't yield the same sort of water shedding ability.

As for use on tinted windows, it really shouldn't be a problem. Generally when tint manufacturers caution against using certain products on their films it's because of alcohol or ammonia content in the cleaners. UQW contains neither so it shouldn't be an issue at all on tint.

Is it OK to apply to the windshield? Will wipers start chattering with UQW ?

Well, that's the primary reason why we don't technically endorse the process of waxing glass, especially the windshield. So many people have a natural tendency to overuse product, and doing so with wax on a windshield can cause all sorts of issues, including chattering of wipers, streaking and smearing - in the dark, in the rain.... not a good combo.

But by the same token, we know that we can't come by when you're doing this and snatch the bottle out of your hands. All we really can do is tell you that if you're going to experiment (ie, use a product in a way that we did not intend it to be used) you do so at your own risk. But if your wipers are in good order, if your windshield is very clean and well prepped, then odds are that a thin application of UQW isn't going to have any negative side effects. But that's enough variables to potentially mess things up for someone so, again, experiment at your own risk.
