  • All purpose cleaner in the consumer brand?

Does Meguiar's make a version of APC in the consumer line? I just picked up some Ultimate Compound and want to know what I can clean my exterior trim with before I use it. Any tips would be appreciated!

    Ultimate Compound or Ultimate Protectant?

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Are you looking to use Ultimate Compound on your trim? I'm not sure as though I understand exactly what you are looking to do.

Not a consumer product, but for exterior trim you can usually buy Mirror Glaze 40 at O'Reilly's if you have one close, which is a great product and will clean and dress the trim at the same time.

Also, you can clean it with what you are using to wash your car, car shampoo in water or rinseless car wash product. For a spray-on, Quik Detailer may work.

Did you mean to say Ultimate Protectant as Colin mentioned? You wouldn't be using Ultimate Compound on rubber trim. UP is great on exterior trim.

As far as a full all purpose cleaner, auto detailing solutions does sell 32 ounce bottles of APC and at 10:1 that will go a long way http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/d10101.html

I'm sorry I meant Ultimate Protectant.

Ultimate Protectant does have some cleaning ability, but if the trim is very dirty, it would be best to use an all purpose cleaner. If you don't Meguiar's APC or #40, you can use something similar such as Simple Green diluted to a light cleaning dilution.
