  • M66 vs. D151

I was wondering what are the main differences between these two similar products? Which one is recommended more? I'm trying to find a professional cleaner/wax with the best overall results in the end.

    Thanks!

    Re: M66 vs. D151

M66 uses DAT (Diminishing Abrasive Technology) while D151 uses SMAT (Super Micro-Abrasive Technology).

M66 has cut equal to that of M80 Speed Glaze while D151 has more cleaning power than Swirlx.

Another difference is that D151 will leave some protection behind if wiped off immediately after being worked into the surface. Given the best protection will be found when allowing D151 to haze but this is interesting. M66 must be allowed to dry to a haze.

It's really a matter of opinion when it comes to these two products. D151 was created with the intent to help those in high-production shops remove some defects, restore some gloss and add protection with one product. D151 is the most aggressive cleaner/wax offered by Meguiars followed by M66.

The final difference would be cost. M66 is sold by the gallon for about $25 while D151 will run you about $32 for a gallon.

If you want to know the difference in how easy they are to work with then I suggest you PM Tuck91. He uses both products and can give further insight to their ease of application and so forth.
