  • Waxing Wheels

    Hi:

Plan on giving my wheels the 5 step process. The wheels are polished and have a clear coat finish.

    Wash - NXT car wash
    Clay
    Polish - #81
    Wax - ??

I am having a hard time deciding what to use as a LSP product.

Which should I use: #20, MPPP, NXT or some other product ???

Thinking of using #20 but not sure if that would be the best product for this application. After reading some of the post regarding #20; still not sure if that is the product to use.

For the best possible shine what product should I be using?

Would topping #20 with NXT be a good choice?

    Thanks

I use whetever I decide to use on the paint. I usually wax the wheels as often as the paint so its convienient to use the same product. Keep em clean in between ( best you can anyway ) and you will be fine.

Like Mike's tag line...find a product and use it often.

    Have a great day.

I would use #20 on the wheels. The wheels produce a lot of heat and a wax will not last you 20 min into a ride before it is melted of the wheels. You need a sealant like #20 to withstand the high temps at the wheels.

I agree with stevet, #20 or I like to use NXT Tech Wax.

          Hey,

I also use a polymer sealant for protecting the wheels. Normally I use either #20 Polymer or NXT. Both give the look and the protection they need!

I guess I should have been more clear, eveyone is right about sealants and I didnt even mention them because that is all I use. I may use a topper product once or twice a year at most, eveything else gets sealant of one kind or other ( #20, medallion, nxt )

I vote for #20. The shine it gives is perfect for polished wheels, including clearcoated ones. Plus the #20 is the easiest product to remove, even easier than NXT.

MPPP has anti-static properties, but it is harder to remove and will take longer to dry this time of year, unless you are in SoCal.

I use NXT once a month. Wipe clean every few days.
