Megs Deep Crystal Paint cleaner leave oils ?

Hi

I am looking to use Deep Crystal Paint cleaner after cutting with Megs ultimate compound with 2 grades of polishing pad. I want to use FK1000P sealant wax after. Does Ultimate compound or Deep Crystal cleaner leave behind oil residue as the sealant wont bond to oily or waxy bases.

There is no reason to use Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner after Ultimate Compound. Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner (DC1) is simply a very mild paint cleaner and Ultimate Compound (UC) is an aggressive compound.

Either way, neither of thr products should leave behind a residue of any sort. You could certainly use your wax of choice after UC without going to DC1.

So when i go to the lighter cutting foam with UC, wont it still leave small scratches behind ?

Anything is possible.

Personaly I would be trying UC with a polishing pad first. Jumping straight to a strong pad with a strong product usually is not the best idea.

And using a milder pad will give a much better chance of a perfect finish from UC.

Great advice, i will only get one pad then for the time being. Which of the Megs pads would be best in the Version 1 and 2 soft buff ? Hopefully i wont need to use anything after the UC. Looking to use it with a Ryobi Machine, 750 watt but only 3.5mm random orbit. Relying on the UC to do the work. Seems to be one of Megs best products......... Had it on the shelf for 4 months waiting to use it hehe.

DC1 should prepare the surface just fine for your FK 1000p. There should be no bonding problems.

The Version 1 Soft Buff pad is not machine washable, and even hand washing will eventually mess with the glue. The Version 2 pad can be put in a washing machine.

What if UC does not finish out LSP ready?

Either SwirlX or DC1 could be used to clean up any marring left from the UC, depending on the paint.

Ultimate Compound does not always finish out LSP ready.

I was speaking only in the sense of residue. Sorry for the confusion.
