  • Need some help...

How do all you clean the wheel wells? what methods and tools do you use?

Also how bout the harder to reach places on the door jambs and surrounds?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Need some help...

I went to a local dollar store, and bought a assortment of toilet bowl brushes. I spray All Purpose Cleaner in the wheel wells. Agitate it with the toilet bowl brushes, then rinse.

Door jambs and such I just use a microfiber from Wal-Mart and clean the areas.

    Hope this helps.

Do you leave wheels on or take them off? do you recommend spraying apc on doorjambs and pressure cleaning?

Meh honestly I think it all depends how dirty they are getting on a regular basis. If you are constantly getting them dirtier than what a simple hosing can take care of then we might need to know why that is.

I am seriously crazy about my car, but I dont spend much time / effort on wells. You are better off spending it in other areas imo.

Yeah, APC and assorted brushes. I got some with a wire core, and bent it a bit.

I just leave the wheels on.

Door jambs are more of a wipe around kind of thing with an old towel.

My wheel wells are lined with a felt like material, which perhaps most new cars are, is APC still the product of choice?

Mine are also lined with a felt-like material. I usually just hose them off with some good water pressure. Every so often I will go ahead and spray some APC in there and agitate as best as possible before rinsing them.

APC would still be ok, might need a bit softer of a brush to get into the felt.

I also have the felt wheel wells. I just use apc and the toilet bowl brush. Works well.
